🇬🇧 Frost again?
Here in this region, we only get winter now and then. And that’s exactly why you have to make the most of it – no matter how cold it is! Most amateur photographers I know would definitely stay at home right now and grumble about the weather and the cold. Unfortunately, very few truly good photos are taken at midday when the sun is shining and it’s a pleasant 25 °C. If you want to take cool photos, you have to suffer.
And so, this morning I find myself drawn once again to my favorite group of trees, which have wrapped themselves in a frosty white cloak overnight. As the wind whips the icy fog through the forest, I try to capture all the beauty of the scene from familiar and new perspectives. The ball head of my tripod keeps freezing, because my breath, as I look through the camera lens, leaves a thin layer of ice on its metal surface. The misty, icy cold spares nothing. It penetrates every pore of clothing and skin. But I block all that out – I’ve been gripped by photography fever!
After thinking I'd taken all the pictures I needed, I was completely frozen – but happy. It turned out that I must have spent about two hours with my trees. I ended up with around 400 photos. I hadn’t even noticed the time passing.
